Richmond garden

Design Award: Association of professional landscapers award winner 2015

Brief: The clients had recently extended their kitchen and now had large glass doors looking into the garden. The garden was now very visible and needed to look fantastic all year. They also wanted shade, year round planting, somewhere to entertain and something for their two young children. A lot to fit into a small garden!

By forgetting about a small unusable lawn, we were able to create an outside eating area under an oak pergola. The pergola supports scented, climbing roses. Losing the lawn gives space to be surrounded by plants and in this case extra large olive trees that look fantastic when lit at night.

The pergola supports a swing and rope ladder and the back screen doubles as a climbing wall for the kids.
