Flint House
South Downs
This garden design Creates a seamless integration of a substantial flint and brick house with its natural surroundings. Part of the design brief was to have no traditional mown lawn.
A prominent feature of this design is the expansive pond situated in front of the house, sat within a wildflower meadow. Initially, an annual meadow sets the stage, This will be redeveloped to a perennial meadow once the ground settles over the initial years.
Surrounding the house, a carefully selected mix of salvias, roses, and Pennisetums soften the large house as well as providing colour, scent and movement. This garden is in its infancy, with trees set to grow and harmonize with the scale of both the garden and the house.
To complement the natural style of the design, the hard landscaping consists of reclaimed yorkstone and cobbled pathways, coupled with bricks matching the house.
